The Challenge
One of the most pressing issues in pediatric oncology in Israel is the lack of clinical trials open for children with progressive disease. More than 200 children are treated in Israeli centers at any given time due to resistant or relapsed disease but despite cutting edge preclinical research in Israeli universities, most of them will have no access to innovative clinical trials.

Parents choosing to have their child enrolled on a clinical trial abroad have many times to leave their homes for a significant period of time. They have to find financial resources to fund long term therapy and to have the child stay far from family and friends at the last stage of their life.

Our Goal
Promotion of preclinical Israeli pediatric oncology research and its translation into the local clinical field.
Our Plan
The first step towards the creation of our research community will take place in the national workshop in March 2025.
We aim to
a. Introduce researchers with the most urgent clinical questions
b. Introduce clinicians with the ongoing research in Israeli centres
Based on the needs of the field as well as on the strengths and resources of our research laboratories-

c. Identify promising research projects and collaborations that may make a real difference
